Interviews with students

We spoke with students of the Otto Suhr Institute of Political Science, Free University Berlin, to find out, how much the students know about the history of the building and the racist research in Ihnestr. 22. We asked questions about the history of Ihnestr. 22, the memorial plaque and about possible connections between German colonial history and research during the NS regime. Additionally, we also collected ideas about an appropriate remembrance of the building’s colonial history.

Interviews with professors

At the same time, we also spoke with professors at the Otto Suhr Institute of Political Science, Free University of Berlin, about the history of the building Ihnestr. 22. The interviews touched on connections between German colonial history and research during the NS regime as well as on the integration of ethical practices and responsibilities in contemporary research practice.

Note: In all interview, we let our interview partners choose whether to speak German or English. As a result, the interviews are a mixture of German and English language spoken.
